Hello Internet;

So a thing is beginning to happen in Fredericton that I love, critical reviews. Fredericton is a small community, and reviewers began to get in the habit of writing reviews that would step on any toes. This happened because we all work together, and we didn’t want to hinder our chances of more work. This is beginning to change, and it started with Swipers by Corinski Nowlan, a show that divided audiences.

Being cautious doesn’t help growth in our community. As far as I’m concerned, critique is part of being an artist. Being able to accept it and learn from it is a part of personal and professional growth. I’m happy to see reviews that not only challenge theater but inform the reader.
