Today marked the launch of the 2019 NotaBle Acts Theatre Festival. It kicked off with the main stage production of Fruit Machine, co-created by Alex Rioux and Sam Crowell under Solo Chicken Productions. I have seen it in all stages and was able to costume this final installation of the work. I will be able to see it in all its glory this Thursday night. I suggest everyone gets out to see this work. It is a phenomenal piece of physical theater and so important for queer and Canadian history.
The festivals launch party also featured a reading of S.C.O.P.E by Jean-Michelle Cliche alongside a few beers at the Grad House. S.C.O.P.E is an A.I looking human connection through short monologues. A beautiful and simple glimpse into humanity.
Make sure you get out and see some theater this week!
