Today was pretty neat. TNB’s Young Company show Gretel and Hansel had an interpreter. Two Students had hearing impairments so a lady stood on the stage in front of the right pillar signing with the actors on stage.
This was the first time I had seen this sort of work done for a theater. The school hadn't requested a script ahead of time, so this lady was just signing as they spoke. I know musicals have been written recently with the dance incorporating sign language, but never a straight forward interpretation.
So, way to go NB school system!
