What am I reading this week you ask? Manage your Day to Day: Build Your Routine, Find Your Focus and Sharpen Your Creative Mind by 99U.

As my week gets increasingly more hectic, it's important to remember that I am an artist, not an email machine. This book was given to me through the Catapult program hosted through Artslink. (Its business training for artists). I've said it before and I'll say it again, the program is fabulous.

So basic takeaways’ i learned from the book;

It's OK to cut yourself off from the world for a few hours a day to be creative. It's the fundamental need of an artist. Block it off like a meeting, put your phone away and work. A few hours a day can add up and make your body of work grow.

Watch how much time you spend on the internet each day. Set a timer. Don’t go over. You don’t need two hours to post something on Instagram.

Remember to block in time for research. It's also a fundamental part of your artistic practice. Read, write and research.

There’s so much more jam-packed in these pages. If your exhausted and don’t have enough time to create after doing all the administrative stuff, re-evaluate your day and restructure it. This book can help.
